Alcohol And Drug Rehabs That Accept Humana Health Insurance
Treatment of Substance Abuse with Humana Health Insurance
The process of finding treatment options for substance abuse can be daunting. A person seeking treatment is often in the vulnerable position of having to confront the many issues substance abuse has caused in their personal and professional lives. This added stress can make it more difficult to navigate the often confusing world of health care insurance. Fortunately, many health care providers and employers recognize that holistic approaches to mind and body wellness are key to helping people live well-balanced and productive lives, as well as reducing the overall costs of health care.
Humana now offers more than just standard health care through a subsidiary called LifeSynch. LifeSynch is designed to integrate standard medical treatment and behavioral health care to promote a holistic approach to mind and body health. LifeSynch includes treatment for substance abuse that helps create a support network including drug rehab centers and substance abuse treatment professionals, behavior coaches, and employers to help you through recovery.
If you have Humana coverage through your employer, you can check with your benefits representative to see if LifeSynch services are available.

Will Humana’s Standard Health Insurance Cover My Treatment of Substance Abuse?
If your employer provides Humana coverage, chances are that you are eligible to have some of the costs of substance abuse treatment covered. This is because the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008, which went into effect in July of 2010, requires most companies with more than 50 employees who offer mental health coverage to cover mental health and addiction treatment at the same level of coverage and with the same deductible as they do other inpatient and outpatient hospital services, such as surgeries and physical therapy.
If you have individual coverage through Humana, it may depend on whether you added mental health and addiction coverage as an option on your plan. In general, Humana’s individual plans cover half of substance abuse treatment costs except when substance abuse treatment is included as part of the prescribed treatment of another diagnosed mental health disorder. When substance abuse treatment is included as part of the treatment for another diagnosed mental health disorder, coverage will be at a level similar to other hospital provided inpatient and outpatient care.
