United Healthcare Rehabs In Vermont – Insurance Coverage

After someone has admitted that they have an alcohol or drug problem, the next step is to do something about it. For many, this includes checking into a rehabilitation treatment facility, whether it’s on a short- or long-term basis, to get the proper care and counseling to overcome such challenges. But there’s one big challenge to entering a treatment facility, beyond the challenges already faced – paying for it.

Obviously, treatment isn’t free and, in many circumstances, people are forced to pay out of their own pocket. However, certain insurance plans – such as those from United Healthcare – will cover some, if not all, of the costs of drug and alcohol treatment centers throughout Vermont.

United Healthcare In Vermont

United Healthcare has a vast coverage presence for medical, dental, vision, life, accident, and other types of insurance in the state of Vermont. Some of the more popular medical plans include United Healthcare Choice, United Healthcare Choice Plus, and United Healthcare PPO. The first two plans are described as “open access” plans and require using a doctor within the United Healthcare network. However, the PPO plan allows people to choose any doctor.

The three plans are also subject to deductibles and out-of-pocket costs, as well as additional charges for out-of-network providers. Under certain circumstances, they will also cover substance abuse treatment.

For example, in order for inpatient treatment to be covered under the aforementioned health plans, the facility must: have the appropriate licenses; recognized accreditation; must be subject to a malpractice review; and must meet other defined criteria. To help educate people about United Healthcare’s behavioral services, it created United Behavioral Health to answer member questions and help pair members with appropriate facilities.

United Healthcare For Substance Abuse Treatment In Vermont

United Behavioral Health is available to all members of United Healthcare, including those that reside in the state of Vermont. Under the terms of the program, all members have to do is contact United Behavioral Health and a professional will determine the individual’s needs and link them with the appropriate party for treatment.

This process is known as “authorization” and it helps United Healthcare members quickly get the care they need – and with a provider that accepts United Healthcare insurance plans. The types of treatments that United Behavioral Health offers include substance abuse treatment for drugs and alcohol (both inpatient and outpatient) as well as mental health treatment.

While it’s important to first get authorized for this type of treatment by United Healthcare before seeking it, any co-payments or deductibles that individuals will be responsible for are largely dependent on the type of plan they have with the health insurance provider. On this note, United Healthcare advises referring to the health insurance member agreement or contacting United Healthcare by phone for more information.

One of the main reasons why people avoid seeking professional help, even when they know there’s a problem, is because their insurance won’t cover it and they have to pay for the service completely out of pocket. That’s why it’s so important to find an insurance plan that covers the likes of detox, short- and long-term inpatient treatment, different types of therapies and more.
