Rehab Centers That Accept Aetna Insurance In Maine

As patients prepare to enter rehab to help them overcome their substance abuse disorders, one of the chief considerations they will have to make is cost. For many patients and their loved ones, trying to afford treatment can seem challenging. There are a number of different phases to treatment. Many patients will require detox. Then, there is either inpatient or outpatient treatment. Patients also need to consider how long their treatments will be and whether or not aftercare– such as a halfway house– will be needed as well.

Patients can receive a considerable amount of financial support for their recovery through their insurance company. Insurance plans will provide coverage for mental health and substance abuse treatment. The level of coverage, however, can vary depending upon the details of the plan and the payment structure. It is important for patients and their loved ones to review their own individual plans to make wise decisions about their care options.

Here is what all patients should know about their Aetna coverage in Maine.

Aetna Substance Abuse Coverage in Maine

In Maine, patients have access to a few different Aetna plans to help them cover medical expenses. These plans are classified as Bronze, Silver, or Gold. The differences between the plans are found the the cost structures. Generally, Gold level  plans will 80 percent of your healthcare costs, Silver level plans pay for about 70 percent of the costs and Bronze level plans pay for about 60 percent of your costs. Finding the right plan for you will require an understanding of this cost structure and finding the plan that will work best for you.

Each of the plans currently offered in Maine have a Designated Network of providers. When you use this designated network, you have a lower deductible and a lower copay for mental health and substance abuse services. This separate network creates a three tier system of payments. Using the designated network gets you the lowest out-of-pocket costs, if you use the in-network provider who is not in the designated network then you pay a little more. Finally, if you use an out-of-network provider, you will not be covered and will have to pay out-of-pocket. The designated network can make it a little easier for you to sort through your treatment options and find facilities and providers that will fit your needs.

For each of these plans, you also do not need a referral to see a specialist. Patients who need help with substance abuse issues are best served by those who have the expertise and understanding necessary to help them recover. With the freedom to find providers on your own without a specialist, you will be able to find these valuable practitioners yourself and work with the one who seems to understand your needs the best.

Gold

The current Gold level plans offered in Maine have deductibles between $1,000 and $2,000 for an individual. There are no other deductibles that need to be met for specific services, such as prescription drugs. There is also a copay due for each visit when going through outpatient substance abuse treatment and a coinsurance requirement for those going into inpatient treatment.

Silver

The current Silver level plans have individual deductibles between $2,000 and $4,000. Some of the plans also have separate deductibles for specific services– namely prescription drugs. This additional deductible can impact rehab patients who need medication for detox or for help with a co-occurring disorder. Like the Gold plans, there is a copay for each visit when going through outpatient treatment as well as a coinsurance requirement for those going through inpatient treatment.

Bronze

Maine’s current Bronze plans from Aetna have deductibles for individuals that start around $5,000. There are no additional deductibles for specific services. At the Bronze levels, there is also a copay due for both inpatient and outpatient care, which could make budgeting easier for many people.

For patients entering rehab, finding a way to pay for treatment can drastically reduce the financial burden and help patients focus exclusively on their treatment. Those with Aetna insurance in Maine should review the above information for insight into their plan. Always speak with an insurance representative before making decisions.
