Chippewa Falls is one of the smaller cities in Wisconsin, but has its share of substance abuse issues. It is home to the L.E. Libertas Treatment Center has inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment programs for adults and adolescents. Parents are given progress reports for their child during inpatient treatment, and they are encouraged to meet weekly with the teen’s counselor. The adult inpatient program uses a range of treatment methods like motivational interviewing and group therapy, and may incorporate the 12 steps and Matrix Model.

Eau Claire Academy, Eau Claire

Eau Claire Academy serves children ages 10 to 18 who have psychological, mental, behavioral, emotional, or physical challenges. This includes substance abuse treatment, which follows the 12-step model and involves daily group therapy sessions. This program is offered to individuals who have a dual diagnosis and are already living at Eau Claire Academy for other issues.

Fahrman Center, Eau Claire

The Fahrman Center is an inpatient drug and alcohol rehab center. Treatment at this facility includes a variety of therapies, such as music, yoga, art, interactive journaling, rational emotive therapy, and individual and group counseling. A residential program also involves fitness and exploring spirituality, and is influenced by the 12 steps.

Burkwood Treatment Center, Hudson

Located near Willow River State Park, Burkwood Treatment Center provides a peaceful environment for healing. This residential treatment facility has a high staff-to-patient ratio, and customizes treatment to each individual. Family involvement is encouraged at Burkwood. Treatment programs explore underlying issues that contribute to substance abuse and relapse. 

Traveling For Addiction Treatment

Several parents in Chippewa Falls were arrested in 2018 after their children were found with methamphetamine in their systems, including two children who were less than three years old. Alcohol and other drug abuse are also threats in Chippewa County. During one case in late 2017, police found 238 grams of meth, 432 grams of marijuana, 23.1 grams of heroin, 21.1 grams of cocaine, and other unknown substances in the home of a Chippewa Falls man.
