Hill Air Force Base (AFB) is a major U.S. air force base located in northern Utah, just south of Ogden. The city is located roughly 30 miles north of Salt Lake City and was named in honor of Ployer Peter Hill. Hill was an air force fighter pilot who died to test-fly a prototype of the B-17 Flying Fortress Bomber.
