Because of its rural location, the closest airports to Alexander City are the Montgomery Regional Airport, which is about 60 miles away, and the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport, which is about 75 miles away. The drive from either airport is peaceful and scenic, as roads meander through dense forests and over streams and rivers.
