Washington Drug Detox Centers

Washington is the home to the great city of Seattle and is known for having a unique culture all its own. While Washington attracts people from all over the West Coast and across the country, it is still battling the same problems as other states. Washington has the 20th highest drug overdose mortality rate, with 13.1 people dying out of every 100,000 drug overdose incidents.
That rate has increased by more than 40 percent since 1999, causing law enforcement officers and legislators to take note. Many of the drug overdose deaths were a result of prescription drug abuse like Xanax, Percocet, and Hydrocodone.
The State Legislature in Washington is working to help combat the prevalence of prescription drug abuse and to lower the drug overdose mortality rate in the state. Senate Bill 5554 is currently pending review in the legislature, and this bill would institute a prescription monitoring program in order to help patients better manage their prescription drugs.
House Bill 1593/Senate Bill 5772 would work to enhance the prescription drug monitoring program, as it would allow health department officials to provide necessary information to medical professionals who are prescribing medications to patients on a daily basis.
