Ohio Affordable Healthcare Insurance Coverage
Addiction is a disease that can take on many forms and it must be treated by qualified professionals. Unfortunately, most people who require treatment for addiction do not get the care that they need. This can be due to a lack of resources and information, but many people also avoid treatment because they do not think that they can afford it. However, there are many Affordable Healthcare plans in Ohio that cover addiction treatment services at rehab centers.
Affordable Healthcare In Ohio
Affordable Healthcare plans are health insurance policies that are offered through the Affordable Care Act, also commonly referred to as Obamacare. There are many Obamacare plans available in Ohio and they vary based on the number of individuals covered by the plan and the ages of those individuals.
For instance, in Franklin County, Ohio, there are five different providers that are offering 32 different health insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act. Patients can browse these plans and decide which offers them the coverage they need for addiction treatment services.
Addiction Treatment Services Covered By Affordable Healthcare Plans
Many of the Affordable Healthcare plans available in Ohio offer coverage for addiction treatment services. Patients should consider the type of treatment that they need or want prior to purchasing a healthcare plan that falls under the Affordable Care Act. For instance, patients who are battling a severe addiction to drugs and alcohol may want to consider a residential treatment center, where they can focus entirely on their recovery journey while working with medical professionals, counselors and recovery specialists.
Other patients may opt to receive care at an outpatient treatment facility, where they can work with counselors on an individual basis as well as attend group therapy sessions. In addition, holistic treatment options such as acupuncture, nutritional therapy, yoga, and art therapy may be available. Most insurance plans through Affordable Healthcare may cover these alternative programs.
For example, Coordinated Health Mutual offers several different plans under the Affordable Care Act, including the 2016 Silver 1 plan. An individual who purchases this plan would have a deductible of $2,250 and a family would have a deductible of $4,500. This plan offers coverage for substance abuse treatment services, including outpatient care and inpatient treatment.
If a patient selects an in-network outpatient facility under this plan, they are required to pay a $30 copay. If they receive treatment at an in-network residential treatment center, they pay 30% coinsurance. And patients must be pre-certified to stay at an inpatient treatment center.
United Healthcare of Ohio also offers health insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act. One plan that is available is the Silver Compass HSA 3000. Under this plan, an individual has a deductible of $3,000 while a family pays $6,000. Patients who purchase this plan and wish to receive treatment for substance abuse disorders must choose an in-network provider in order to receive coverage for their care. Once the deductible has been met, the patient has a 0% coinsurance fee for both outpatient treatment and inpatient treatment at an in-network facility.
