Rehab Centers That Accept Aetna Insurance in Kentucky

When you’re ready to get help for an addiction and/or a mental illness, don’t let the cost of care hold you back from the treatment you need. Health insurance generally covers at least some of the cost of this type of care, making it more affordable. You will find that most treatment centers will accept health insurance as long as it covers the type of care you receive.

Aetna Group Coverage

You can find coverage for your mental health, behavioral health and substance abuse treatment needs in Kentucky through employer-based group health insurance plans with Aetna. Your coverage for these health care services will vary depending on the plans your employer chooses through Aetna, and which options it offers you. Contact your insurance company for more specific information on the benefits your plan provides.

Group Policies in Kentucky

Aetna offers a number of group health policies in the state of Kentucky. This page will go over some examples of what your plan might offer, although it could be somewhat different with your specific coverage.

One plan option available in Kentucky is the Aetna Open Access Elect Choice Health Plan. This plan covers inpatient treatment if you decide to stay in a facility for mental disorders and/or substance abuse. The insurance covers 90 percent of the room and board cost, physician services and other expenses after the deductible and a $200 admission copay are paid. For outpatient care, you pay a copay of $20 per visit. Out-of-network facilities are not covered for inpatient or outpatient care, so you need to stay in the network to take advantage of the insurance coverage.

Another option is the Aetna Open Access Managed Choice Health Plan. This plan covers 90 percent of the cost for each inpatient admission for mental disorders or substance abuse after the deductible is paid. It also covers out-of-network inpatient treatment at 70 percent for each admission. Outpatient services cost a copay of $20 for each visit with no deductible applied, then 100 percent after that, while out-of-network treatment comes with a 70 percent coverage per visit after paying the deductible.

The Aetna Traditional Choice Health Plan covers 80 percent for each admission to a hospital or residential treatment facility for mental health or substance abuse services. This coverage starts after the deductible is covered. This plan covers the same amount if you choose outpatient treatment instead of an inpatient facility. It only covers in-network facilities, so you can’t choose a facility that’s outside of the network.

Or your employer might offer the Aetna $25 Copay Open Access Health Plan. This HMO plan covers detoxification from a substance in an outpatient treatment capacity. These benefits cover the treatment services for abuse or addiction. You will be referred to a professional through the plan. For inpatient care for detoxification, the insurance plan covers the room and board, care from various health professional, medicines, testing and equipment.  If you need mental or behavioral health treatment, the plan might cover inpatient care, plus it covers outpatient care for a short time.

All of these Aetna group health insurance plans cover mental, behavioral and addiction treatment in some form, so you should be able to get help from insurance to cover part of the cost of treatment. Since the plans cover both addiction and mental disorders, they can help if you have a dual diagnosis. Figure out which plans your employer offers through Aetna, and determine which one is best for your needs based on its offerings, the monthly premium and the deductible.

Get the Help You Need

Don’t overlook health insurance if you are trying to figure out how to enter an inpatient treatment facility or visit an outpatient center. A group health plan from Aetna can help pay for most of the cost of your treatment, so you will only be responsible for a small portion. Since this type of treatment is often expensive, health insurance can make it more attainable for everyone who needs it.
