Kaiser Permanente allows for patients in recovery from addiction or substance abuse to reap the benefits of outpatient services with a very low copayment. Though your out-of-pocket expense for insurance will vary depending on your location and the plan you’re enrolled in, you will likely be covered for all of your services with as low as $20 copayments per service date. Many plans do not have a cap on the number of treatment dates you can receive per calendar year, so you may continue to go as much as you need.

For inpatient services, Kaiser Permanente also covers a large amount of your total bill. If you receive your care within the permitted network of providers that works along with the company, you will be covered with as low as a $500 copayment for the duration of your residential stay. There is usually no cap for the number of days you may be in your inpatient program, which allows for you to complete a longer treatment plan, if necessary.

Mental health services are commonly covered in the same way as inpatient services, which makes for more care when you’re experiencing dual diagnoses and require treatments for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mentally debilitating illnesses.
