Rehab Centers That Accept Humana Insurance In Virginia

For many people struggling with substance abuse, nearly every aspect of life is impacted. Patients may be in poor physical, mental, emotional, and relationship health. In these instances, rehab is the best solution to help them get their lives back on track. Here, they will learn how to break the destructive patterns of substance abuse and instead learn how to be healthier and regain control over their lives.

Unfortunately for many patients and families, cost is a pressing concern. Fortunately, insurance plans through Humana in Virginia will provide some coverage for rehab.

Humana Substance Abuse Coverage In Virginia

For patients in Virginia, there are three Humana plans available. These plans are classified as either Catastrophic or Bronze level plans. Catastrophic plans are unique because there are restrictions on who can buy them. Only people who are under 30 or those who have been classified as having a hardship exemption are allowed to buy this type of insurance.

These plans are known for having very high deductibles and are designed to help people should they find themselves seriously ill or injured. Bronze level plans also have higher deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance rates when compared to Platinum, Gold or Silver plans, but their lower premiums make them more desirable for many patients. All of the Humana plans in Virginia are considered PPO.

Out-Of-Network Coverage

All three of the plans currently offered in Virginia do allow patients to pursue treatment outside of the network. This can make it easier for patients to find the treatment they need. They can now evaluate providers and treatment centers based upon how well they seem to align with their needs rather than focusing primarily upon the network. It is important to note, however, that patients will receive more coverage when they remain in network.

Health Savings Account

Currently only one of the Bonze accounts can be paired with a Health Savings Account. An HSA is a special savings account that allows patients to put aside money for medical expenses. The money in the account can be used to cover expenses such as the deductible, copayments, and coinsurance. Patients can use these accounts to put aside money for expected rehab costs such as hospitalization for the detox period or additional therapy after the main rehab has finished.

Prescription Drug Coverage

Prescription medications can be an important part of rehab as they can help make detox easier and safer for those struggling with particular substances. They can also be used to help patients struggling with certain co-occurring disorders, such as manic depression. When these illnesses are successfully treated, patients can often make a much smoother recovery.

There are some plans in Virginia that currently have separate deductibles for prescription drugs, but the rest only have one deductible that applies for both medications and other medical services. Like all insurance plans, there are also drug lists included with the plans that dictate where certain medications are categorized and the out-of-pocket costs associated with those medications.

Rehab and Humana give people access to experienced and caring therapists who can help them understand what led them to their illness. They will learn how to better cope with triggers and stressors so they can regain control over their lives and their health.
