In Washington, Cigna offers Medicare addiction treatment coverage options and coverage for employees in companies with over 50 employees.

However, Cigna also offers coverage under the Cigna Choice Fund. This option is available for people under their other coverage options and for those that don’t. These options include a Health Reimbursement Account, a Health Savings Account, and a Flexible Spending Account. Every paycheck, money will be deposited into these tax-free accounts. They can then be utilized to treat health concerns.

Treatment coverage may range from long and short-term treatments in a variety of options including: holistic therapies (such as yoga or massage therapy); cognitive or behavioral therapy; inpatient or outpatient treatment; and detoxification. Employer-sponsored plans include: the Health Maintenance Organization, Medical Indemnity, Open Access Plus, Open Access Plus In-Network, LocalPlus, LocalPlus In-Network, Preferred Provider Organization, Network Open Access, Network Open Access Point of Service, and Network Point of Service.

In certain areas of the state, Cigna HealthSpring offers a Medication Therapy Management Program, which is designed for specific health and pharmacy needs.

All of these plans cover specific areas of intervention, with programs designed to assist with rehabilitation and therapy. Some require a referral, while others are direct access.

Medicare recipients have varied options in Washington. There are five plans under Cigna-HealthSpring and Medicare Advantage, which include TotalCare, Traditions, Preferred, Achieve, and PreventiveCare.

Under the TotalCare plan, there is a 20% Coinsurance fee for the primary care physician and a specialist physician. Under the Traditions plan, there is no copay requirement for the primary care physician, but there is a 20% copay for any specialists. The Preferred plan has a $15 primary care physician copay, and a $50 specialist copay. The Achieve has a $15 copay for primary care, and a $50 specialist copay. Finally, the Preventive plan has a $5 copay to see the primary care physician and a $50 specialist physician copay.

If you have Medicare Part D, you must continue to pay your Medicare Part B premium. The Cigna-HealthSpring Rx Secure plan does not include medical coverage, but has a number of copays attached to the plan. The RX Secure-Extra does not include medical coverage either and has a number of copays attached. Both of these plans are for prescription coverage.
