Drug Abuse In Juneau And Dodge County
The number of drug overdose deaths in Dodge County more than doubled between 2014 and 2016. This is largely due to opioids—especially heroin. But opioids are not the only problem. Police found 732 grams of cocaine in a March 2018 Dodge County drug bust, indicating that cocaine is also being distributed and abused in the area.
Though Dodge County is smaller than neighboring Fond du Lac County, Dodge had almost twice as many overdose deaths as Fond du Lac in 2016. The two counties partnered in September 2018 to provide more people with prompt access to addiction treatment. This initiative is funded by a state grant.
