Learn About Rehab

The small San Diego County seaside community of Encinitas is a short 25 miles north of San Diego, and 90 miles directly south of Los Angeles. As of 2012, the population of this beach-lover's paradise was 60,994, with women making up 50.6 percent of its residents or 30,859 people, and men making up 49.4 percent, equaling 30,135 people. The combination of the beach, a fabulous climate, and an all-around wonderful environment, make Encinitas a place that's ideal for long or short-term treatment or recovery.

Weather

It's hard to think of any place in the United States that has better year round weather. The coldest average winter temperatures are the middle 50's, and that only happens in January. June, July and August are this city's warmest months, and average temperatures are in the mid 70's, but highs rarely exceed the low 80's. Winter is the rainiest time of year, and between December and March, average monthly rainfall is 2 to 3 inches. From September to November, there is typically between 1/2 and 1 inch of rainfall each month. During Spring and Summer (May to August,) there is very little rain.

Not surprisingly, a city that sits along the ocean is quite humid, and even though there isn't much rainfall from May to August, that's the most humid time of the year. There is more humidity in the morning than in the afternoon.

Airport

Encinitas is served by the McClellan-Palomar Airport, (CRG) in Carlsbad, which is 3 miles south-east of the intersection of El Camino Real and Carlsbad Airport Road. The 466 acre airport has only one asphalt runway. Though small, the airport is served by corporate and commercial jets. United Express is the only airline that offers flights into the airport, and they connect through Los Angeles. The airport is less than 10 miles from Encinitas, and the drive takes less than 15 minutes, in average traffic.

Lodging

There are two Best Western Inns at 85 Encinitas Blvd. Anyone needing a hotel room or suite can choose between the Best Western Inn & Suites at Moonlight Beach, or the Best Western Encinitas Inn. Both places are very close to the beach and come with comparable amenities. The suites are larger, and more expensive, but may be better for longer stays, or families who don't want children to stay in rooms alone.

Rehabilitation Treatment And Recovery Facilities
