Recovery Centers For Abuse And Addiction

Harbor House, Inc. has separate inpatient rehabilitation facilities for men and women. The Men's facility is called Harbor House. The structured treatment includes cognitive behavioral therapy and 12-step, AA or NA programs. To prevent relapse, men who complete their recovery at Harbor House can enter Cornerstone - a transitional living facility for men. The sober living facility lets men live there following treatment, as they continue to get outpatient treatment and find jobs or return to school. Patients can stay at the facility for up to two years.

Women have a similar inpatient facility called Gateway. The model is similar and both men and women must participate in many hours of group therapy each day, as well as individual therapy and other activities. Specialized Women's Services is Gateway's 60 to 75 day treatment facility for women who are pregnant or who have young children.

Women can enter Keystone, the transitional sober living facility for women, however, women who live there have to have a job or be in school.

Involving family is an important part of the therapy program, so family members must come to the center at least once a week - for family therapy, to visit with their relative, and to learn about the disease that brought their family member there in the first place.
